Description
The NSHA Pressure Injury Prevention policy directs compliance of Accreditation Canada standards on Pressure Injury Prevention. It includes healthcare professionals' accountability to assess patients for risk, how to complete risk tools, interventions to reduce risk, and required documentation. Frequency of assessment based on current best practice is outlined for the various patient populations throughout the province. Quality indicator requirements are outlined for reportable pressure ulcers, unit audits and on-going prevalence, and incidence studies.
